SQL SERVER Management Studio – Removing Completion Time in Messages

Earlier, I wrote a blog post about SQL SERVER Management Studio – Completion Time in Messages. This was newly introduced in the recent version of SQL Server Management Studio. Since the blog post, I have received many curious emails and questions while working with a client on Comprehensive Database Performance Health Check about Removing Completion Time in Messages.

I have researched a bit on SSMS and asked a few friends but I could not find the answer to this one. I am super glad that SQL Server Expert Oz, just posted a comment with a link to StackOverflow solution for Removing Completion Time in Messages.

The option to hide Completion Time in Messages is added in SQL Server Management Studio 18.3 and later version.

Go to Tools > Options > Query Execution > SQL Server > Advanced. Now uncheck the Show Completion Time checkbox.

That’s it. It is that simple to disable the Completion Time in Messages.
