These are the books I have written over the years. Most of them are about SQL Server, one is about blogging, and the two newest are about working alongside AI. Each cover links to its page on Amazon, apart from the last one, which is a private edition and not for sale.

100 AI Interview Questions and Answers for Data Professionals

1Book cover: 100 AI Interview Questions and Answers for Data Professionals. My newest book, and a return to the series I started in 2007 with SQL Server Interview Questions and Answers. This time the subject is the one every data interview now asks about: AI. It has a hundred questions data professionals get asked, each with an answer you can say out loud in thirty seconds.

Every answer comes in four parts: the short answer, why it matters, what the interviewer is listening for, and the follow-up to expect. The hundred sit across ten chapters, each marked Starter, Working or Senior, so you can see the level above yours. It works for any database, not only SQL Server.

Also inside: 184 key terms, a five-minute exercise in every chapter that works in any AI assistant, and a thirty-minute scored mock interview at the back.

Available as Kindle (also on Amazon.in), paperback and audiobook. Read more about the book on Amazon.

AI: Nobody’s in There. But we’re still in here.

2Book cover: AI: Nobody’s in There. But we’re still in here. The first of my books that is not about databases. It is thirty short essays on judgment, learning and work in a world that now has AI in it. No hype, and no doom. Each essay takes two to five minutes to read.

It came out of a simple problem I kept running into. The tool is genuinely useful and genuinely confident, and being right and making things up arrive in the same handwriting. So the book is less about what AI can do, and more about what stays ours: taste, judgment, knowing when an answer smells wrong, and deciding what is worth building in the first place.

Some of the essays inside: Verification Is the New Bottleneck, The Disappearing Junior, Competence Debt, Why the Smartest People Get Fooled Fastest, Stop Asking AI for Answers, Your Moat Is the Workflow Not the Model, and The Tutor Who Never Sighs.

Available as paperback, Kindle and audiobook. Read more about the book on Amazon.
