Pluralsight Author Summit 2013: A Truly Amazing Experience

The Pluralsight Author Summit 2013 made February a good month for me. The summit was held in Salt Lake City, Utah, and it was open to all Pluralsight authors. It turned out to be a truly amazing experience, and this post is my recap.

Three Days at the Headquarters

Most of the authors attended the conference, which was held at the Pluralsight headquarters. It was a three day event, packed with activities. There was something to do all day and every evening.

The days gave us plenty of chances to network, meet people, learn and share common experiences. The conversations were as useful as the sessions.

Sharing What We Know

What all the Pluralsight authors have in common is that we love to share knowledge. We shared what works and what does not work. We also shared what people like to attend, and what users read and learn. We learned a lot from each other.

Every Pluralsight author is excellent, and each one has a particular talent we can learn from. Some talents are about how to present, and others are about how to make videos better. There were also many tips about how to improve the sound in our videos.

It was all interesting to learn. I found it most interesting when we talked about how to make our interactive courses.

Evenings and the Management Team

The evenings were fantastic too. They gave us more chances to network, and we had delicious dinners together.

The Pluralsight management team was available to network, talk with the authors and engage with everyone. I got to talk to each of them, and I learned from them all. They also presented the future of Pluralsight: where it is going, and how authors can be part of its success. The idea was to share the vision and succeed together.

The Last Day at Snow Basin

The last day was especially fantastic, because we spent it at a ski resort. I could go on and on about the Author Summit, but the best recap is the photographs. I had a great time with each of the Pluralsight authors. I am definitely looking forward to next year’s Author Summit.

A summit is not three days of sessions, it is three days of learning from people who love to share.
