Msg 15151, cannot alter the login ‘sa’, comes from missing rights. Only a member of the sysadmin role can change SA, so add the user to that role first.
SQL SERVER – DISABLE and ENABLE user SA
You cannot modify the permissions of the SA user, but you can disable and enable user SA with ALTER LOGIN. Log in with Windows authentication first.
