I suggest you do not miss a session of Vinod Kumar and Jacob Sebastian. They are technology rock stars.

I have earlier presented on Indexes and I love this topic. Indexes are considered as a better solution for the performance tuning, but reality is very different. There are many more many different issues with the index and for real performance tuning one needs much more experience with this subject to solve issues with the performance. Trust me, it is quite possible that having too many index one can damage their own server and application.

The best policy is to create the most optimal indexes for your server. If you ever want to understand what is the other side of the index story, just send me email or leave a comment and I will be happy to follow up with you individually.
