Earlier this month, I was very fortunate to visit Microsoft User Group Hyderabad lead by Hima Vindu Vejella. Hima is a very enthusiastic leader and kind person. I had a wonderful time meeting her as well her husband during my visit to Hyderabad. I had presented session on Index, which was well received.
Brief information on this session is given below:
The Other Side of SQL Server Index: Advanced Solutions to Ancient Problem
SQL Server Index is very powerful tool and when in hand of the less skilled expert, the same tool can pose a danger to its performance and kill server. This session touches the root base of the how incorrect usage of Index can reduce performance and what is the correct way to implement the indexing solution. A problem addressed in the session may be age old, but the solutions are looked into with the focus on the latest versions of SQL Server.
I really enjoyed presenting this session to group of people. Special thanks to Harish Ranganthan for arranging the venue in a very short notice. You can read the details of this event on Hima’s blog here.
I really had a great time with UG members in Hyderabad ‑ indeed, a bunch of very enthusiastic attendees.
