12th Anniversary of SQL Authority – 4552nd Blog Post

Today is Anniversary of SQLAuthority and it completes 12 years and this is a 4552nd blog post. That means on average every year I have published around 379.3 blog posts a year.

12 years ago on November 1st, 2006, when I started this blog, I had no idea where I will end up but I must confess, it is a pretty decent ride so far. There are earlier many blog posts, I have shared my story, so I am not going to re-write it why did I start the blog. However, let me take a moment and talk about the future of the blog.

12th Anniversary of SQL Authority - 4552nd Blog Post 12th-1

Future

Within the first year of the inception of the blog, the blog started to get your support and we were getting over 1 million views every month. The saga continues for over a decade and I still get over 1 million views every single month.  I have a very diverse audience from all over the world. I have major visitors from the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Europe, and India. Every single day I get over 300+ emails to help people with their SQL Server performance problems and I truly enjoy answering them.

Just a few years ago, I thought, my blog traffic will eventually drop and emails which I receive will be reduced. The reason for my belief was based on two facts – a) There are many more talented bloggers out there and they will share the audience and b) My personal interest will change with time and I may not be interested as much as I am today in SQL Server. However, at this point of time, I come to conclusion that, my belief was wrong. There are indeed many new amazing blogs but the audience and readership have increased as well. On the top of it, I am still interested in SQL Server as I was 16 years ago.

With this, I commit that I will be blogging for one more year!

Special Offer

As today is SQL Authority’s birthday, here is a very limited special offer to few who gets to this one first. As many know that I do only two different kinds of consulting engagements.

  1. Comprehensive Database Performance Health Check
  2. SQL Server Performance Tuning Practical Workshop

The price of the health check and workshop both is USD 2000 flat rate. However, if you sign up for either of this two before December 31st 2018, you get flat 20% discount. Yes, that is correct so essentially the price for the workshop and health check will be 2000 1600 USD if you sign up for the training before December 31, 2018. If you see, you have only 60 days left. From January 1, 2019, the prices will go up to a regular price of USD 2000 per health check and workshop.

Thank you for reading, one more year of SQLAuthority.com coming up!
