Looking Back at the T-Shirts in Action

When I look at these pictures today, I smile. In 2007 this blog was still very young, and a small box of T-shirts felt like a big event. I did not expect so many readers to ask for one, and I ran out of all of them. Every request made me happy, because it told me something important. People were not only reading the articles. They wanted to be part of the small community growing around them. That feeling is still the best part of writing this blog, many years and many posts later. A small gift, but it connected this blog with real people in real places.

A T-shirt is a simple thing. It does not teach you any T-SQL, and it will not make a slow query run faster. But it starts conversations. A colleague asks what SQLAuthority is, and suddenly two people are talking about indexes over lunch. That is how a lot of real learning happens, one friendly conversation at a time. Those small moments matter more to me than any page view count. So to everyone who wore one, sent me a photo, or simply asked for one and waited patiently, thank you. You turned a few shirts into a small piece of this blog’s history. If you still have yours tucked away in a cupboard, I would love to hear about it. Seeing those T-Shirts in Action again, even after all these years, would truly make my day.
