The year 2020 has been the strangest year in my entire life and it may be true for many. However, I have decided to keep the spirit of myself and my family up during this time. However, when I look back at the year, indeed it has brought many changes in the world. In today’s post let me write down a few changes which I have observed throughout the year. My thoughts are not organized in any category but rather have been written down as they come to my mind. Let us see Wrap Up of the Year 2020.
- 60 Seconds is often enough to learn new things. I started SQL in Sixty Seconds series on YouTube more seriously. While I have been creating videos for a while, I was not regular and also never spent time building good videos. However, in the year 2020, I was finally able to get to build a good number of videos on SQL in Sixty Seconds.
- 14 years of daily blogging Anniversary. I have been blogging since the Year 2006 and have been blogging 7 days a week. It was indeed a long and rewarding journey. After 14 years now as I started with SQL in Sixty Seconds video series, I have decided to blog 5 days a week.
- 300 SQL Server Interview Questions completed. I had decided to write 300 interview questions a few years ago and I wrote one question a day. After almost 6 years, I completed the series and I am pretty delighted with it.
- 37 Pluralsight Courses Recorded. A few years ago, I had decided that I will expand my learnings beyond SQL Server. I had created a few courses for MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB. However, this year will be very special for me as I created courses on MongoDB, Heroku, and visualization courses like Google Charts, ChartBlocks, FusionCharts. If you have a Pluralsight subscription, you can watch it for free. If you do not have a Pluralsight subscription, you can still watch the course for FREE by signing up for a trial account.
- 0 Countries traveled. Every year I traveled to various countries for SQL Server Consultation, Training, or Conference. This year, everything shifted to online and I did everything from the comfort of my home. I was fortunate that my primary consulting offering Comprehensive Database Performance Health Check is already set online hence, I had a very little disruption in my career and business.
Well, that is major news from my side. I wish you all well and see you all in the year 2021. I am confident that the year 2021 will be quite different from this year.

Hi Dave,
I wish you and your family all the best for 2021 and I really hope that I will be able to see you at the next PASS Summit again.
2019 I was a little disappointed because there were far to few sessions with you and it was a little chaotic because of the last minute room changes :(
But at least 2018 I enjoyed every single minute of your sessions – you are funny and I love the way you present interesting stuff.
Keep up this way Dave and stay healthy.
Gerald
Thank you so so much Gerald for your kind note. I truly appreciate it.
