SQL Authority News – SysAdminDay – System Administrator Appreciation Day

System Administrator Appreciation Day or SysAdminDay is around the corner and I am very excited about it. Every single year, I receive tons of emails and messages on this day.

History of SysAdminDay

I think the trend of celebrating sysadmin day is increasing every year. System Administrator Appreciation Day or SysAdminDay is celebrated on the last Friday in July. The history says the celebration started in the year 2000 by HP.

SysAdminDay is observed worldwide and many organizations also throw a party for their DBAs and Administrators. I am really not sure but every single party I have attended to celebrate SysAdminDay, I have always noticed the tradition of cake and ice cream.

In the year 2019 we are going to celebrate it on July 26, and in the year 2020 on July 31, right following that in the year 2021 we will celebrate it on July 30.
