hi pinal,

I had a messed up database, the last DBA of my company has a habit of deleting historical files then after the deletion, he then now shrink the database to free the space.

(take note that my ETL process was on a daily basis)

i have a 500 gb harddisk which is my DB stored to.

currently the free disk of the 500gb was only 15gb, which is very alarming for me because i dont know if the the free disk space can accommodate the next time the DB increase it’s size.

now my plan is to create another database from a different disk then insert the data from my old db to the new one. Is it advisable to these approach? then if not what would be the best way to do this?

Regards
